An exciting opportunity has arisen to join DMR’s Head Office operation, as a Jewellery Buyer. The new buyer will work closely with the senior management team implementing a buying, stock management and reporting system, whilst overseeing and managing all aspects of the jewellery offering for the company through from its inception to after sales.
The Jewellery Buyer will attend domestic and foreign trade shows to report on new styles, potential new suppliers and liaise with existing suppliers. They will proactively track, monitor and report on competitor activity, product, price and promotion on a quarterly basis, continually scanning and scrutinising the external environment to build and maintain an awareness of current and future trends. They will communicate these throughout the company and use them to forecast future direction and developments within DMR jewellery.
Working closely with a number of departments, the buyer will liaise with the in-house design team and external partners developing new ranges and bespoke pieces as well as providing costing and operational support to deliver new collections and pieces on time and within budget. They will work closely with the DMR display team and Showroom Managers to ensure they have the right merchandise to maximise sales, working collaboratively with the Marketing team to highlight areas for promotion.
The successful candidate will have significant commercial experience gained in a buying role, preferably in the jewellery or luxury accessories sector, with proven commercial experience of trading in a multi–site retail environment. A proven track record of creating positive impact on business through buying strategy is important along with a proven track record of networking and negotiation skills.
