Baselworld 2016 Live: Rolex Overview
Rolex have released a whole host of exciting new watches for 2016, and whilst we’ve already focused on their stunning 2016 Cosmograph Daytona, here’s a roundup of all of their new additions to the Rolex family, unveiled at Baselworld 2016.

As well as the aforementioned Daytona, Rolex have introduced nine new timepieces at the Geneva showcase: The Air-King, Lady-DateJust 28, DateJust 41, Pearlmaster 39, Day-Date, a new Yacht-Master, Explorer and Cellini model.

The Air-King features a 40mm case, a distinctive black dial with luminescent indicators and counters, ideal for navigational readings.

The new Lady-DateJust 28 is an updated version of the Lady-DateJust range. Enlarged to 28mm, 18ct Everose Gold and set with glorious diamonds.

Another updated range is the DateJust 41. A 41mm case houses an updated design, available in either a stunningly beautiful Yellow Gold or Everose Rolesor.

The most prestigious Rolex model, the Day-Date, has also been given a tweak for the new 2016 release. A modernised design and a new mechanical movement lead the changes.

Rolex have also given updates to the new Explorer. Bolder and more luminous indicators and dials give a more pronounced and powerful look to the piece.

Not one but three new additions to the Cellini range have been released, the Time, Date and Dual Time versions all present fantastic additions to one of Rolex’s more refined collections.

Whilst all the new releases are just as exciting as the next, our particular favourites have to be the new Pearlmaster and Yacht-Master models.

The Pearlmaster 39 is an absolutely stunning watch in 18ct Everose gold (Rolex’s patented rose-gold alloy). The first thing noticeable about this watch is of course the sheer amount of diamonds that grace the bezel, the dial and even the bracelet. For an idea of just how many gems are set in the piece, the dial alone is paved with 713 diamonds, each one quality checked by Rolex’s in-house gem specialists.

The watch is a perfect 39mm, waterproof to 100m thanks to the Oyster Case, and is powered by Rolex’s perpetual Calibre 3235 – an in-house movement that has been reinvented by Rolex and carries 14 patents. As well as this, the Pearlmaster is covered by the Superlative Chronometer certification, testament to the rigorous testing by Rolex and to the superb quality of the manufacturing.

The new 2016 Yacht-Master continues the trend of superb Yacht-Master watches that Rolex produce without fail. The 18ct Everose bi-directional rotating bezel with raised numerics presents a perfect combination with the sandblasted chocolate dial.

The 40mm case sits with an integrated polished steel and faceted Everose bracelet. The bracelet is a solid-link Oyster bracelet fitted with a safety clasp to avoid accidental opening, it also includes Rolex’s patented Easylink rapid extension system.

Waterproof to 100m, the Yacht-Master is the utmost symbol of regality, as much at home on deck as it is on land in an elegant yacht club (and of course in other places).
