Baselworld 2017: TAG Heuer Steel Link

By: Amy Brennan-Stephenson

Baselworld 2017: TAG Heuer Steel Link
The famous Link is celebrating its 30th birthday with a fresh new look. A larger 41mm diameter, an understated contemporary design, halfway between a round and cushion shape, all while retaining its signature: the iconic bracelet with its S-shaped links.

The design of the Link dates back to 1987 with the TAG Sports Elegance. Its defining feature is the bracelet, with its signature S-shaped links. This iconic design is a benchmark in terms of ergonomics and wearer comfort – each link is rounded on the top, bottom and sides for an exceptionally smooth feel on the wrist.

The Link is made from 41mm of polished and brushed steel and the bracelet is totally integrated into the case, removing the need for horns. The silver-plated open dial allows for maximum readability, while the bezel features two components, combining two designs: a cushion base and an overlaid ring. Thanks to its four subtle corners, the case shape lies between round and cushion, giving it a softer, more understated design.

This model houses an automatic Calibre 5 movement visible through a sapphire case-back, and offers some of the best value for money on today’s market. The Link for men is available with three dial variations: black, silver-plated and blue sunray.
