TAG Heuer: The Aquaracer Reborn

TAG Heuer: The Aquaracer Reborn
Continuing a legacy that began more than 40 years ago, TAG Heuer today goes beyond the edge with the launch of the new Aquaracer Professional 300.

TAG Heuer’s go-anywhere luxury tool watch, adored by active, style-conscious watch collectors who push their limits, explore the seas and go beyond the edge, emerges today with a bright new look, new materials and a new lease of life!

With its striking, instantly recognisable aesthetic epitomised by the Aquaracer’s signature 12 faceted bezel, this new watch is entirely contemporary, yet recalls a legacy that this iconic brand began more than 40 years ago.

The new-generation model is called the TAG Heuer Aquaracer Professional 300. Elegant, yet highly functional and versatile, it is a robust watch with a luxury feel that goes beyond the edge and sets a new high-water mark: for ergonomic, extreme-performance mechanical watches. The new additions to the Aquaracer family are waterproof to 300m.

The brief for the brand’s designers was clear – to create a bold, high performance watch for divers that was distinctively TAG Heuer. They did this working with the collection’s six signature features. Since 1983, the collection has always offered a unidirectional rotating bezel, a screw-down crown, water resistance to at least 200 metres, luminous markings, a sapphire glass and a double safety clasp – all real-world functions that divers rely on in the deep.

For extra clarity, TAG Heuer chose green Super-LumiNova® for the hour hand and hour markers, and blue Super-LumiNova® for the minutes hand. The crown protection has also been rethought and is now softer and more rounded.

During the conceptual phase, TAG Heuer’s designers recognised that, as well as being a reliable instrument, the new Aquaracer Professional 300 needed to be adaptable to multiple environments. To achieve this, they evolved the Aquaracer’s overall form to be thinner and lighter. The case, bezel and metal bracelet have all been slimmed down, without compromising the watch’s core performance features, while also improving durability.

The new TAG Heuer Aquaracer Professional 300’s sophisticated dynamic isn’t limited to its design fundamentals. Today, the brand introduces seven references in two sizes to the core collection. Four references have a 43 mm case diameter, and three have a case measuring 36 mm.

Each of these watches has a uni-directional rotating divers’ bezel with a ceramic insert and an engraved minutes scale. Six of these will be in stainless steel, with the choice of black, blue or silver dials. There will also be a 43 mm piece in high-tech matte Grade 2 titanium with a green dial.
