Patek Philippe Aquanaut

Patek Philippe Aquanaut
Since its launch in 1997, Patek Philippe’s Aquanaut collection has created a sensation in the world of watches. This thrill continues in 2021 as the brand revisits the collection known for its modern, sporty chic style with a host of new releases.

In 1976, Patek Philippe defined their vision of casual elegance by launching the iconic Nautilus. Following its success, the brand continued with their momentum. In 1997, they reaffirmed their ability to innovate by unveiling another high-end sporty watch, the Aquanaut, which was also destined to become a cult model amongst watch collectors. Today’s launch is the beginning of the next chapter in the story of this collection.

Patek Philippe Aquanaut Luce Travel Time (Ref 5269/200R)

Making its debut amongst today’s suite of launches, the ladies’ Aquanaut Luce line introduces a completely new travel watch, as elegant as it is practical, powered by a quartz Travel Time movement (caliber E 23-250 S FUS 24H).

Reliable, accurate and dynamic, the Patek Philippe Aquanaut Luce is renowned for its special brand of casual chic, an asset on every occasion. To be the perfect travel companion for today’s active, cosmopolitan woman it lacked only the display of a second time zone – a complication introduced by the brand with this latest reference.

Drawing inspiration from the manufacture’s ingenious Travel Time mechanism, Patek Philippe had to reinterpret this useful, user-friendly function to incorporate new innovations to retain all the elegance and finesse that women love in this collection – a new quartz movement with a dual-time-zone function and a discreet, practical setting system via the winding crown.

The new Aquanaut Luce Travel Time Ref. 5269/200R has two central hour hands – a skeletonised hand for home time and a solid hand for local time. Its rose-gold 38.8 mm case, equipped with a non-screw-down crown, is water-resistant to 60 m. The case’s contrasting polished and satin-brushed finishes complement a matt-white dial and a matching strap.

Patek Philippe Aquanaut Chronograph (Ref. 5968G)

In 2018, Patek Philippe launched the first chronograph to join the men’s Aquanaut collection – a complication perfectly suited to this line’s dynamic sporting spirit. The Ref. 5968 made its debut in a steel model with a black dial mounted on a black strap in a composite material and delivered with a second composite strap in orange (5968A-001).

For 2021, Patek Philippe introduces the first white-gold version of the Aquanaut Chronograph, with either of two colourways for the dial and matching strap – an elegant midnight blue shading (5968G-001) or an audacious khaki green (5968G-010).

The case is a handsome 42.2 mm in diameter and is water-resistant to 120 m. Its integrated strap is made of an ultra-resistant composite material and is fitted with a patented fold-over clasp secured by four independent catches.

This new white-gold model is equipped with the Patek Philippe caliber CH 28-520 C self-winding flyback chronograph movement uniting tradition (column-wheel control) and innovation (vertical disk clutch). As the clutch is virtually friction-free, the centre chronograph hand also functions as a permanent seconds hand. The flyback function allows the user to begin timing a new event while the chronograph is still running, with a simple pressure on the push-piece at 4 o’clock. The caliber CH 28-520 C self-winding flyback chronograph movement boasts a power reserve of 55 hours.

Patek Philippe Aquanaut Luce (Ref. 5267/200A)

In addition to the launch of the new Aquanaut Luce Travel Time, Patek Philippe introduces a new Aquanaut Luce Quartz to the collection, in a larger case with new integrated straps in black, white or khaki green.

The new Aquanaut Luce Ref. 5267/200A comes with matching dial and strap in a choice of three colours – eternally elegant black (5267/200A-001), a feminine matt white (5267/200A-010) and an audacious khaki green (5267/200A-011). This new shade of khaki green is identical to the colour introduced on the men’s Aquanaut Reference 5168G-010 in 2019 and seen this year on the new Aquanaut Chronograph Reference 5968G-010.

The dials are notable for their elegant blend of sportiness and refinement. Their embossed Aquanaut decoration throws into relief the white-gold applied Arabic numerals and the large white-gold baton-style hands with their luminescent coating.

Water-resistant to 120 m, thanks to its screw-down crown, the Patek Philippe Aquanaut Luce is powered by the caliber E 23-250 S C quartz movement finished with the same meticulous care as the manufacture’s mechanical movements. The bezel has polished bevelled edges and is set with 48 round cut Top Wesselton Pure diamonds, weighing a total of 1.11cts.
