TUDOR: The Royal Collection

By: Amy Brennan-Stephenson

TUDOR: The Royal Collection
The recently launched TUDOR Royal collection is a versatile and affordable choice, combining excellent watch craftsmanship with a distinctive sport-chic style.

Since the brand’s creation in 1926, TUDOR has endeavoured to produce the best possible watches at the best possible price, a daring mission that was born from the vision of Hans Wilsdorf, founder of Rolex. First used in the 1950s, the name ‘Royal’ emphasised the superior quality of TUDOR’s watches.

The new TUDOR Royal range remains true to this heritage and offers automatic sport-chic watches with integrated bracelets that are as affordable as they are uncompromising. Cutting-edge technical performance and refined aesthetic are characteristics of this collection, which sits at a crossroad between classic and sports watches.

Let’s take a look at some of the key features of this remarkable collection.

Available in stainless steel and gold variations, the new TUDOR Royal is offered in four case sizes, with a variety of sunray satin-finished dials available, indicating the time with either applied Roman numerals or diamonds.

To aid legibility, baton hands are painted with Swiss Super-LumiNova.

The epitome of balance, elegance and versatility, the details of the TUDOR Royal design gives it a unique personality. One such feature is its characteristic notched bezel with its alternating surface polish and cut grooves, which provides a distinctive aesthetic.

Its integrated metal bracelet, ensures an uninterrupted line with the case, meaning the TUDOR Royal boasts fluidity and an assured style. Characterised by three wide satin-brushed links set between two slimmer polished elements, the smooth quality of its surfaces, and, above all, its edges emphasise the attention paid by TUDOR to comfort on the wrist.

Each piece within the collection is powered by a self-winding mechanical movement, boasting a power reserve of approximately 38 hours. All variations have a semi-instantaneous date, visible through a window at the 3 o’clock position.

The 41mm variation has an extra complication, displaying the day of the week in an additional window at 12 o’clock. Waterproof to 100m, this new collection is a testament to the technical genius of TUDOR.
