SOCIAL EDIT: The Perfect Valentine's

We caught up with Sophie at DMR Liverpool for the second of our “Social Edit” series, to help you find the perfect gift for your special someone, this Valentine’s Day!

With the country still in lockdown and the doors to our favourite restaurants still closed, most of us will be spending Valentine’s Day at home this year. Whether you usually look forward to a Valentine’s ‘date night’ or prefer to celebrate at home, just like many other special occasions that have taken place in lockdown there are plenty of ways to make it special!

I’ve heard so many amazing proposal stories that have taken place at home over the last year and in the end, many clients were quite glad the pressure was taken off them having to pop the question in a bar full of excited on-lookers! I can’t wait to hear more of those stories as the month goes on.

A bunch of roses…

While chocolates and flowers are lovely gifts, my advice would be to consider a different type of rose this year… a piece of rose gold diamond jewellery is the perfect way to say ‘I Love You’ and will last a lot longer than any bouquet!

DMR’s ‘Amour’ pendant in rose gold is one of my personal favourites. It features 0.55ct of round brilliant cut diamonds in a delicate claw setting and is the kind of pendant that will become part of your everyday uniform. This pendant can be worn throughout the day into the night and will compliment any look. I love how this makes enough of a statement worn alone but is subtle enough to layer with other pendants.

Initial Necklaces

Another option I love is our off-set initial necklace in gold. You really cannot go wrong with an initial as you are choosing a piece that is just right for that person. I love how clients can get really creative and make their necklace stack unique by also wearing their partner’s initial or that of their children.

These are pieces that tell a story and become sentimental over time. I love the idea that when you wear these necklaces, you’re reminded that your loved ones are always with you! The adjustable chain on this necklace is amazing for layering as you can alter the length depending on what other pieces you are styling it with.

Diamond Stacking Rings

My perfect gift would be one of our diamond stacking rings available in rose, white or yellow gold, featuring a baguette, pear or oval centre diamond. Whether your partner chooses to wear it alone, stacked with others or even as a modern choice of eternity ring to sit next to her engagement and wedding band, this is another staple piece I think belongs in every woman’s jewellery box!
