TUDOR: The new Black Bay Fifty-Eight “Navy Blue”
In a typical year, by now, our blog would be awash with exciting new releases from our partner brands. Whether at Baselworld or in Geneva, you’d have been introduced to a host of new horological marvels. However, as we all know, things haven’t exactly gone to plan…

Ever the “Born to Dare” brand, TUDOR are on hand to brighten up the day of watch collectors around the world with the release of a new addition from this iconic luxury watch brand.

Following the release of the TUDOR Black Bay Fifty-Eight in 2018, this year sees an expansion of the collection to include the new TUDOR Black Bay Fifty-Eight “Navy Blue”. In a 39mm case, the same size as its two-year old sibling with the original black dial and bezel, this new addition expands the colour options available in the collection.

This new piece remains true to the heritage of TUDOR’s iconic divers’ watches but with an update to the dial and bezel to reflect the watches in TUDOR’s past. This striking new navy blue colour makes its appearance on the Black Bay Fifty-Eight with a new blue bezel and dial, and features white numbers and hour markers on the bezel.

Like other models in the TUDOR Black Bay family, the Black Bay Fifty-Eight “Navy Blue” adopts TUDOR’s characteristic angular hands known as “Snowflake”, which appeared in the brand’s catalogue back in 1969 to provide optimum readability.

The result of a subtle blend of traditional design features and contemporary technology, the Black Bay range is far from offering mere rereleases of TUDOR classics. Firmly anchored in the present, it brings together nearly seven decades of TUDOR divers’ watches.

As well as being available on a robust steel bracelet, the TUDOR Black Bay Fifty-Eight “Navy Blue” can also be purchased on a ‘soft touch’ or blue Jacquard fabric strap. This year also sees TUDOR celebrate 10 years of a partnership with Julien Faure, a 150-year old company and producers of the brand’s fabric straps. Woven in France on 19th century Jacquard looms in the St-Etienne region, its manufacturing quality and comfort on the wrist are truly unique.

Powered by TUDOR’s COSC-certified manufacture calibre MT5402, this latest member of the family boasts a 70-hour power reserve making it “weekend proof” for the wearer. As with all new TUDOR watches, the TUDOR Black Bay Fifty-Eight “Navy Blue” comes with a five-year manufacturer guarantee.
