When it comes to brands that strive for technical excellence and with a history of iconic timepieces, OMEGA remains an exciting stop on our annual pilgrimage to Baselworld.
Celebrating its 25th anniversary, OMEGA’s Seamaster Diver 300M is released to the world at Basel, with a range of updated models. Enjoying a legendary following since 1993, the Seamaster Diver 300M receives a full makeover. Now sized at 42mm, no stone is left unturned, with a new ceramic bezel with diving scale in Ceragold. At the heart of the watch the Master Chronograph Calibre 8800 takes the collection to new heights of precision and magnetic resistance. Ingenious technology allows the helium escape valve on this updated timepiece to be operated underwater.
50 years since the Apollo 8 crew became the first humans to see the dark side of the moon, OMEGA releases an incredible chronograph in honour of the mission. Presented on a black leather strap with yellow stitching, this Speedmaster “Dark Side of the Moon” Apollo 8 remains true to the mission’s pioneering spirit. Produced in sleek black ceramic, the dial is expertly skeletonised to expose a blackened movement inside. The movement, a specially decorated version of the Moonwatch calibre 1861, has been laser ablated to produce realistic imagery of the Moon’s surface.
Following a long tradition for exquisite timepieces for ladies, OMEGA’s Tresor collection is another elegant addition for Baselworld. Unlike pieces of the past, this collection is designed firmly with a new generation in mind. A forward-thinking collection, it exudes confidence with a modern finish. Available in 36 and 39mm sizes, thin cases and a range of strap choices show the contemporary touch of this classic style. In every model, diamond paving curves along each side of the case, with a single diamond set in the crown.
