Baselworld 2018: Ladies Day
Baselworld 2018 has seen the release of a whole host of stunning new and updated timepieces, including some stunning new models for ladies. With women all too often forgotten when it comes to horology, DMR wanted to readdress the balance, and dedicate a day specifically to the more feminine pieces to come out of Baselworld 2018.

Tudor have released a new family of watches- the 1926 collection. The collection has been designed with timelessness and elegance in mind. With a variety of clear and crisp dial choices; metal combinations; and stone set options, Tudor have created a timepiece that allows personality to subtly shine through, whilst maintaining a classic overall aesthetic. The automatic timepiece retains the ‘Born to Dare’ philosophy of all Tudor timepieces at its heart, with a 38 hour power reserve and 100 metre waterproofness. Plus, the 1926 comes in four case sizes, making for a perfect his and hers timepiece!

Rolex have updated their classic Oyster Perpetual Datejust 31 for 2018. The case sides and lugs have been redesigned to create a sleeker overall feel to the timepiece. The watch is ideal for slimmer wrists due to the smaller case size. Available in 18 carat White, Yellow or Everose Gold, the redesigned Datejust 31 has an understated appeal with its classic shape and timeless style. Available in a variety of dial, bezel and bracelet options, this timepiece can be as minimalist or glamorous as you wish!

With the trend for ladies timepieces getting larger, the Oyster Perpetual Datejust 36 is a perfect choice for a more modern feel. Rolex have again redesigned the lugs and sides of the case, to give a fresh look to the classic timepiece. Available in Yellow and Everose Rolesor, the precious metal gives the larger timepiece a soft feel, which looks more feminine on the wrist.

The Formula 1 Lady has been completely redesigned by TAG Heuer to be more in line with the needs of today’s busy women. Featuring a new case shape, and dial options, the timepiece looks instantly more feminine- and as it is available in 32mm or 35mm sizes, it is suitable for a variety of wrist sizes and personal styles. The model features an interchangeable strap, allowing the same timepiece to be worn for sports, work and lesiure.

The Patek Philippe Aquanaut collection has been added to with the addition of a new colour option- ‘blue-gray’. The 5067A is the epitome of the Sport Luxe street style that has been seen everywhere from New York to Milan. Pairing 46 round brilliant cut diamonds with the sporty case shape and ‘tropical’ composite strap, Patek Philippe have created the ultimate lady’s timepiece for the current climate of fashion. With sky blue being supported by Vogue as one of the colours of summer 2018, Patek’s new colour way emphasises the modernity of the piece and creates a youthful, fun feel to a watch that is sure to stand the test of time.
