By: Amy Brennan-Stephenson

SIHH 2018: Panerai
The perfect blend of Italian style and Swiss watchmaking with a passion for the sea, our friends at Panerai are always an exciting visit on our agenda at SIHH. 2018 was no different. We were excited to meet the latest members of Panerai's collection.

L’Astronomo

2018 sees the release of “L’Astronomo”, an innovative timepiece dedicated to the Florentine genius, Galileo Gailiei. The PAM920 is the first Panerai timepiece with moonphase indication, a nod to the historic work of the famous scientist. With an intellectual system using a polarised crystal to indicate the date, this piece displays the best of Panerai’s watchmaking skill. This 50mm Luminor 1950 timepiece, features moonphase and GMT complications, with the addition of an intellectual tourbillon regulator, in a stylish titanium case.

Lo Scienziato

A new version of one of Panerai’s most exciting timepieces, SIHH 2018 welcomes to the collection “Lo Scienziato”  PAM767. This innovative wristwatch brings to the wrist a stylish 3D-printed Titanium case, with Panerai’s P.2005/T skeletonised movement and tourbillon regulator. The piece’s blue hands perfectly harmonise with the striking tones of the titanium case. Blue sewing in the black leather strap adds to the PAM767’s sportier appearance. Considering the vast mix of incredible technical features, the lightweight nature of “Lo Scienziato” makes it a truly remarkable timepiece.

Luminor Due 3 Days Auto

SIHH isn’t all about new collections and stand out timepieces. For some, the expansion of popular collections is the most exciting part! For 2018, Panerai expand their Luminor Due family, to now feature elegant wristwatches in stainless steel and red gold, in 38mm, 42mm and 45mm. Released for the first time in 38mm, the dimensions and characteristics of the Luminor Due 3 Days Auto, coupled with the array of new strap and dial colours, make it a versatile collection.

Luminor Logo

Building on one of the best sellers of the Panerai collection, SIHH 2018 sees the introduction of 6 new versions of the Luminor Logo, with a new manufacture calibre P.6000, hand wound with a three day power reserve. With a striking minimalist design, the Luminor Logo is famed for it’s powerful and distinctive identity. Six new timepieces are added to the collection in stainless steel, measuring 44mm in diameter.
