SIHH 2018: IWC

By: Amy Brennan-Stephenson

SIHH 2018: IWC
One of our friends is celebrating their 150th birthday this year, but who could it be? They're experts in style and elegance... do you need more clues? We're excited to view IWC's Jubilee Collection here at SIHH, marking the 150th anniversary of this iconic watchmaker.

We picked some of our favourite pieces from the Jubilee Collection, that we are sure you will love!

IWC Pilot’s Watches

We can’t imagine any way to honour IWC ‘s 150 year history, without an ode to one of their most iconic families, Pilot’s watches. SIHH 2018 sees the release of three new limited edition Pilot’s watches.  Recognised by their characteristic dials, produced in blue or white using a complex lacquering process, form part of this exciting Jubilee Collection. We’re particular fans of the Pilot’s Watch Chronograph Edition “150 years”. Limited to 1000 pieces, this 43mm chronograph timepiece is an elegant mix of style and technology, with an automatic movement and 44 hours power reserve.

IWC Da Vinci

We fell in love with IWC’s Da Vinci collection at SIHH last year when the brand relaunched this 1980s style family, and the latest members of the family certainly don’t disappoint! Adding 2 limited edition pieces in the Jubilee Collection, we became particularly well acquainted with the Da Vinci Automatic “150 years”. This 40.4mm timepiece is the first to feature the IWC manufactured 82200 calibre movement, providing the wearer with a 60 hour power reserve. Limited to 250 pieces in red gold and 500 pieces in stainless steel, and worn on a Santoni leather strap, the latest editions are an elegant addition, and we’re sure you’ll agree.

IWC Portugieser

Well ahead of it’s time when designed in the 1930s, IWC’s Portugieser collection remains just as popular now. The 150th anniversary Jubilee Collection features 5 new limited edition Portugieser timepieces, honouring the part played by this beautiful collection in the development of the brand. We were particular excited to see the development of one of our all time favourites, in the form of the Portugieser Chronograph Edition “150 years”. Fitting this iconic chronograph with a movement from the 69000-calibre family for the first time, two limited edition styles are added to the collection. In stainless steel, this piece is available with a blue or white lacquered dial, each limited to 2000 watches. This 41mm automatic timepiece boasts a 46 hour power reserve.
