Rolex Sky-Dweller: the perfect watch for the frequent traveller
Famed internationally as one of the finest watch brands in the world, one timepiece epitomises Rolex’s position as such… The Sky-Dweller. Baselworld 2017 saw some particularly exciting additions to this exquisite family of watches!

As the classic timepiece for the frequent traveller, the Sky-Dweller is safely the most technical and complicated timepiece designed and manufactured by Rolex. That said, its advanced features, coupled with its discreet and intellectual control mechanisms, make it one of the brand’s most user-friendly pieces.

Sold exclusively in precious metals since its original release in 2012, this year saw the expansion of the collection to include models in both Yellow and White Rolesor. A signature feature of Rolex since the name was first registered back in 1933, the term ‘Rolesor’ describes the marriage of gold and steel on a Rolex watch. Depending on the model in question, the Rolex Sky-Dweller is protected by between 11 and 14 patents.

In the Yellow Rolesor Sky-Dweller, the bezel, winding crown and centre bracelet links are made of 18ct Yellow Gold, while the middle case and outer links are in 904L steel. It’s White Rolesor alternative, is fitted with an 18ct White Gold bezel, whilst the rest of the piece is made of 904L steel.

Controlled by its ‘Ring Command Bezel’, the Rolex Sky-Dweller includes two separate time zones both displayed on the dial simultaneously, an innovative annual calendar, and 12 windows around the circumference of the dial indicating the month. The annual calendar simplifies life for the wearer of the watch, with no need to think about adjusting the dates at the end of a 30-day month, as required on other pieces!
