Founded during a period of crisis for watchmaking, Raymond Weil secured its place in the market by creating a robust family business model. The brand’s current CEO Elie Bernheim is Raymond Weil’s grandson and his family centric approach has allowed Raymond Weil to remain independent in a fiercely competitive industry.
Since its beginnings, Raymond Weil have taken inspiration from music. Some of their most iconic watches designs have drawn influence from music such as the Amadeus, Toccata, Fidelio, Traviata, Maestro and Saxo. The brand has continued with musical tradition by forging partnerships with events like the Brit Awards and the iconic Royal Albert Hall venue.
Raymond Weil shared its 40th anniversary with the Beatles and to mark the occasion created the unique maestro Beatles Limited Edition. The watch features the 13 Beatles’ album titles written around the bespoke dial with a special “Help” index at 4 o’clock which recalls the iconic album released in 1965. The case-back presents a smoked sapphire crystal that carries the official Beatles logo and the limited edition number engraved.
To celebrate music icon Frank Sinatra’s 100th anniversary, Raymond Weil teamed up with the Sinatra Estate to create a watch in honour of a career constantly crowned with success. The maestro Sinatra special edition watch – limited to 1212 pieces as a reminder of the artist’s date of birth – features a mechanical movement with date function. The stainless steel case shelters a silver dial with blue hands, indexes and date window as a homage to “Ol’ Blue Eyes” and sits on a genuine leather strap.
Raymond Weil’s dedicated research and development department is responsible for numerous innovations exclusive to the the brand such as the Two Time Zones complication and the patented interchangeable bracelet system on ladies’ Shine collection. A new partnership with Swiss sailing team Realteam has seen the flag ship freelancer collection revamped with an even greater focus on performance, precision and innovation.
