Watch of The Week // IWC Portofino Hand Wound 8 Days

By: Amy Brennan-Stephenson

Watch of The Week // IWC Portofino Hand Wound 8 Days
What would you do in 8 days? It's a fair bit of time, 192 hours to be precise. There's a lot that can be achieved in that time. Places to discover, people to meet and ideas to explore.

IWC Portofino Hand

With the IWC Portofino hand wound 8 days the one thing you don’t have to do is wind your watch. The model, first announced in 2011, is powered for 8 full days from being wound. The power display dial sits beside 8 and 9 to let you know when your powers running on low, plus, aesthetically it gives a nice balance to the dial. The indexless balance has a frequency of 28,800 beats per hour ensuring this timepiece delivers absolute accuracy.

It’s not all in the mechanics with the IWC Portofino.

The IW510104 is real understated style. The brown alligator strap is old school luxury, a brown strap always conjures up images of soft inviting leather sofas and the scent of cigars. The brushed grey dial ads a modern twist on this and sits beautifully against the chocolate tones in the strap

A stunning watch more than worthy of being our Watch of The Week! We’re all getting a little excited that the Portugieser line will be arriving in our stores imminently…watch this space!
