Rolex Cellini Dual Time // Watch of the Week

By: Amy Brennan-Stephenson

Rolex Cellini Dual Time // Watch of the Week
The design at first glance is pure classicism, the elegant 39MM round dial, the somewhat stark lines for the time markers, the overall feel of the piece is crisp and clean. The beauty of the piece is its refined and intelligent nature.

CELLINI DUAL-1

The Rolex Cellini is no ordinary timepiece.

However, the finishing and finesse of the piece are pure contemporary. The double bezel and the textured nature of the dial give it an interesting component and keep the watch the right type of simple.

For us at DMR, we love the versatility of the watch. Although we would shy away from ‘his and hers’ slightly nauseating labels, this is an elegant dress watch that any gentleman would be pleased to accent his suit with, yet it is also a very cool and contemporary piece that any modern lady would be proud to have adorn her cocktail drinking hand.

CELLINI DUAL-2

We suppose that that is the key of impeccably executed design, an item that is molded and changed depending on the environment in which it’s placed.

We’ve spoken before about the women wearing mens watches trend, and the Cellini is no exception. This doesn’t of course take away from the masculinity of the piece, it’s a little like a crisp white dinner shirt; designed for and worn well by a man, but styled right, looks perfect on a woman.

CELLINI DUAL-3

The piece sits beautifully on the wrist, snuggly resting on a sturdy male wrist, or consciously dominating a gentler ladies wrist.  The Cellini dual time does exactly what it promises, with a second dial showing a separate time zone with the delicate sun and moon indicator to avoid any confusion.

The Rollex Cellini is the perfect contemporary classic….and well deserved as our Watch of the week.
