Baselworld 2016 Live: Tudor
Tudor’s newest additions have been unveiled at Baselworld and they do not disappoint. They have released four new models in their Heritage range, the Black Bay Bronze, The Black Bay Dark, The Advisor Cognac and the Black Bay 36. As well as the new Heritage pieces, they have revealed the exceptional Style Fluted Bezel and have updated the original Black Bay model.

The Black Bay Bronze is a fantastic offering, 43mm in diameter, domed dial and water resistant to 200m, it is the ultimate diver’s watch. The imposing bronze alloy case presents a fantastic rustic look when combined with the aged brown leather strap. The piece is powered by Tudor’s in-house MT5601 Manufacture Movement, Tudor’s first movement to be developed and assembled in-house.

The Black Bay Dark is a direct draw from Tudor’s heritage and history. The original lines and domed dials from the first Tudor diving watches make a reappearance in the Black Bay Dark. The exceptionally prominent “Big Crown” is inspired by the 7924 reference from 1958 and the trademark snowflake dials are a nice touch. 41mm in diameter and waterproof to 200m, the Black Bay Dark is a stunning piece.

A reinterpretation of Tudor’s famous alarm watch from 1957 sees the Advisor Cognac take centre stage. Retaining the original shape of the classic watch, the watch mimics the original proportions: cas, lugs and glass. The diameter has been increased from 34mm to 42mm to reflect modern tastes and the case is made from titanium for maximum alarm sound quality.

A superb retro offering takes shape in the Black Bay 36. Named so because of its 36mm case, the Black Bay 36 is an offering for the slimmer wrists and presents a more formal option of timepiece. The smooth lines of the watch reflect the Heritage family and the brown leather strap allow the piece to appear both fashionable and sporty.

The reinvented and tweaked Black Bay provides us with an updated version of the original that was launched in 2012. The classic watch is available in three different versions (Rivet Steel Bracelet, Black Fabric Strap or Aged Leather Strap), the watch has been updated to include Tudor’s in-house MT5602 movement. The Black Bay is a fine staple of Tudor’s ranges and this updated version continues that trend.

Last but not at all least is the Style Fluted Bezel. This is a fantastic addition to the Style range and the Fluted Bezel is incredibly aesthetically pleasing. The 18ct gold bezel presents a powerful and glamorous look, with noticeable nods to Tudor’s history. Available as a 41, 38, 34 or 28mm case, the Style Fluted Bezel is also available with or without diamonds and has an option of a white mother of pearl dial.
