David M. Robinson were delighted to assist when asked to help DJ Spoony to raise funds for junior golf.

Every year DJ Spoony holds The Spoony Classic Golf Day at Stoke Park golf club.  Spoony is assisted in this cause by a host of friends from the world of TV and radio as well as the European Tour.  This year was no different with teams of celebrities and pros and amateurs raising over £73,000 for the charity.

David M. Robinson helped by contributing a TAG Heuer Professional golf watch for the evening auction and raffle.  Incredibly this was won by DJ Spoony himself with a ticket that was bought by his sister!  Of course Spoony did the right thing and asked for auction bids on the watch.  The auction raised £1,600 plus money raised on the original raffle to bring the total to over £5,000.

And in the words of Sponny himself "Keep swinging".

In 2008, David M Robinson Ltd will celebrate 40 years in business and what an interesting journey it has been.

I joined the jewellery industry as an apprentice “on the bench” in a small workshop in North John Street, Liverpool and after several years, decided it was time to start my own business, undertaking repairs and making my own collections to sell to other retailers. I opened my first shop in North John Street in 1968 and our initial success was aided by winning two DeBeers Diamonds International Awards, considered worldwide to be the diamond industry’s “Oscars” for design.

More stores followed in Chester, a second in Church Alley, Liverpool, Manchester, Southport and Altrincham. Our newest store in Canary Wharf, London, opened in September 2006.

Over the years, we have made pieces for some famous people, but our business is not based around “dropping names”. Instead, it’s about designing simply beautiful jewellery for people in love. Our diamond engagement rings have always been the main thrust of our business and in recent years, we have developed our own Yellow Box Collection of diamond jewellery, exclusive to my stores. We’re often asked to supply other retailers, but we politely refuse. The latest collection was shot on location in Venice and I hope you’ll enjoy viewing it in one of our stores.

Perhaps, the largest single development in our industry in recent times has been the growth in prestige watches. There are a selection of pieces we have highlighted for you to view on our website. In our stores, you’ll find a helpful, professional “can-do” approach. You can take the option of generous interest free credit facilities; we’ll add extra guarantees free of charge and the only thing to match the selection of brands is the extent of our famous after sales services.

Lastly, I just want to say a big thank you to all the people in my organisation who consistently “go the extra mile” for our customers – without you and your efforts, the business would not be where it is today.
