Launched in 2004 for the 100 years of the creation of the Santos watch, the Santos 100 maintains comfort and elegance with its imposing and masculine aesthetic.
Santos 100 Watches
The Santos 100 is part of the Santos de Cartier watch family and elegantly commemorates the centenary of the friendship between two pioneers, Louis Cartier and aviator Alberto Santos-Dumont. The very first Santos de Cartier watch was created following Alberto Santos-Dumont’s request for a timepiece that would allow him to check the time without losing control of his ‘flying machine’. Cartier created a truly innovative wristwatch which even today is regarded as a symbol of modernity. The Santos 100 is a sportier version of the original, featuring iconic attributes of the original but with its own strong and unique character.
Synonymous with luxury, Cartier are renowned jewellers and watchmakers. Cartier was established in 1847 during a time when pocket watches were of the highest popularity, however founder Louis-Francois Cartier identified the demand for watches that could be worn on the wrist and created the first Cartier wristwatch in 1904. Cartier watch models today still take inspiration from the classic Cartier designs of the past with their signature Roman numerals and silvered grain dials. A Cartier watch is a true symbol of a lasting investment and a superior quality.
